Get co-opted to the MGA Executive Committee (MGAEC)

We have a number of new vacancies on the MGA Executive Committee to be filled.

If so, take up the reins and apply to be co-opted to the MGA Executive Committee (MGAEC)!

There are currently five positions available with a term of office from 1 January to 30 June 2022.

We welcome all applications, but strongly encourage interest from Indigenous graduate students, international coursework graduate students, and research graduate students from the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture and the Faculty of Information Technology.

Caulfield Campus Representative

The Caulfield Campus Representative initiates campus-based activities, identifies issues pertaining specifically to their campus and ensures the interests of Caulfield–based graduate students are represented at the MGAEC and within the broader university.

Peninsula Campus Representative

The Peninsula Campus Rep liaises with relevant groups and individuals to identify issues pertaining to graduate students studying on the Peninsula Campus. They ensure that the interests of this cohort are represented at the MGAEC and within the broader university.

General Representatives (3 positions available)

General representatives may contribute to the MGA in any of the following ways:

  • Attending the monthly MGAEC meetings, contributing to decision making and voting on issues of concern.
  • Conducting some background research to support an MGA submission.
  • Talking to graduate students in their department/course/faculty to find out what the current issues are.
  • Contributing to one of the many subcommittees that are created for a specific event/issue.
  • Volunteering at an MGA orientation, social event or seminar.
