Background

I commenced my enrolment at Monash University in December 2021 as a doctoral candidate at the School of Earth, Atmosphere, and Environment. My primary research area focuses on satellite observations of clouds over the Southern Ocean. This field of study enables me to investigate and contribute to our understanding of the Earth’s atmosphere and its complex dynamics.
I obtained my Bachelor of Technology degree from TKM College of Engineering, University of Kerala, in the year 2010. In 2012, I successfully completed my Masters of Technology degree in Civil Engineering with specialisation in Remote Sensing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. During my time as a master’s student, I had the opportunity to conduct research in Germany as part of the DAAD-IIT Master’s exchange scheme. I spent nine months living in Munich, where I gained valuable international experience and expanded my academic horizons.

About my professional background, I have held the position of Structural Engineer at a multinational corporation based in the United Arab Emirates. In addition, I have gained experience in academia through my role as an Assistant Professor (equivalent to a Lecturer) at an engineering college in India. These experiences have provided me a comprehensive understanding of engineering and research, encompassing both industrial and educational environments.

Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I am a proud mother of a 5-year-old boy who serves as my greatest source of strength and support. As a dedicated parent, I strive to balance my responsibilities and provide a nurturing environment for my child.

During my time at Monash University, I have actively engaged in student activities and community involvement. In the past year, I served as a general committee member in the Halls Society at Logan, contributing to the vibrant student life on campus. Additionally, I have also been involved as a Postgraduate Committee member at EAE, where I have had the opportunity to represent and advocate for the needs and interests of fellow postgraduate students.

Personal Interests

I am an avid reader and I love to read and my favourite genre is Fantasy and favourite series is Lord of the Rings. I also enjoy expressing myself through writing, whether it be composing poems, blogging, or creating short stories when inspiration strikes. Furthermore, I have a keen interest in learning new languages and exploring diverse cultures, as it broadens my perspectives and fosters a sense of global interconnectedness.

Work for the MGA

The MGA employs Monash graduate students to fill the receptionist roles at the Clayton and Caulfield offices. When a vacancy arises we advertise the position through our email newsletter and on our website.

The Monash Graduate Association (MGA) is the representative body for all graduate research and coursework students enrolled at Monash University. So, what sets us apart from the University services? The MGA is an independent, not-for-profit association governed by graduate students, for graduate students. Our primary aim is to be there for you! If you can’t find what you are looking for, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
