  • Conducting some background research to support an MGA submission.
  • Talking to graduate students in their department/course/faculty to find out what the current issues are.
  • Contributing to one of the many subcommittees that are created for a specific event/issue.
  • Volunteering at an MGA orientation, social event or seminar.

Background

I’m currently enrolled in a Master of Education in Early Childhood and just started my first year. I have a Bachelor Degree of Primary Education and I’ve been an English teacher for over ten years. I’ve done my practice experience in public elementary school then worked most of the time in language training centers. In recent years, I feel limited in using English to teach children both language skills and knowledge about world culture. Thus, I decide to pursue further education at Monash which has world-regarded pedagogic courses to get a truly international literacy and the highest quality of instruction. I expect to become a professional educator in the future and make some contributions in the education field in my country.

Aristotle once said, “The essence of life is to serve others and do good.” As a representative of MGAEC, I’ll be your voice and ensure you all be heard above all else when it comes to improving Uni lives. I’ll dedicate myself and make great efforts to promote every graduate student’s well-being.

Personal Interests

I am a coffee lover and often go to different cafes to explore the best coffee in Melbourne in my free time. I also like to hang out with friends to attend social and cultural events in the city. During vacation, I prefer traveling to new countries and cities because it is always the best way to gain new knowledge, enjoy life experience and broaden the horizon.

Work for the MGA

The MGA employs Monash graduate students to fill the receptionist roles at the Clayton and Caulfield offices. When a vacancy arises we advertise the position through our email newsletter and on our website.

The Monash Graduate Association (MGA) is the representative body for all graduate research and coursework students enrolled at Monash University. So, what sets us apart from the University services? The MGA is an independent, not-for-profit association governed by graduate students, for graduate students. Our primary aim is to be there for you! If you can’t find what you are looking for, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
