HDR Webinar | Advocating for yourself through your PhD

Booking requiredHDR postgraduateResearch PostgraduateSeminarsVia Zoom

MGA Senior Advocate Zuzana Quinn will share her observations about the common challenges faced by PhD students and the potential ways to overcome them.

Completing a PhD can be daunting and onerous. HDR students invariably come up against roadblocks such as milestone anxiety, supervision issues and authorship uncertainty. As you continue to navigate your research degree, you'll learn how important it is to be your own greatest advocate. But how do you do this?

MGA Senior Advocate Zuzana Quinn has had decades of experience advising students just like you. She has a wealth of knowledge and anecdotes from past students to share.

Zuzana will share her wisdom, along with a topical case study, and then field any questions you may have for her.

We will also be joined by a representative from the Monash Graduate Research Office (MGRO) to talk about what they do, particularly relating to leave entitlements and grants.

If you have questions about supervision or advocacy relating to your research degree, then this is the webinar for you!

Work for the MGA

The MGA employs Monash graduate students to fill the receptionist roles at the Clayton and Caulfield offices. When a vacancy arises we advertise the position through our email newsletter and on our website.

The Monash Graduate Association (MGA) is the representative body for all graduate research and coursework students enrolled at Monash University. So, what sets us apart from the University services? The MGA is an independent, not-for-profit association governed by graduate students, for graduate students. Our primary aim is to be there for you! If you can’t find what you are looking for, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
