Monash Graduate Association Executive Committee Election 2025/2026

The polls are open! This is a simple and effective way to have your say about who will represent graduate students at Monash.

Whether you're passionate about improving student services and social events, increasing campus sustainability, or advocating for better research resources, having your say on the governance of the MGA will help us to deliver quality and targeted services for graduate students. Polling takes place between Monday, 28 April and Friday, 9 May.

How do I vote?

  • If you are an enrolled graduate student, you will receive an email invitation to vote via your student email account. The invitation will come from the MGA Returning Officer and will include a secure link to two ballots—your campus-specific ballot (if applicable) and the general representative ballot—hosted on an external online voting platform.

  • Please note, graduate research students using Monash staff email accounts should check their student email account for the email invitation.

  • Only graduate students enrolled on the relevant campus will be eligible to vote for their campus representative.

  • There are 11 general representative positions and 4 campus-tagged positions that make up the MGAEC.

Who am I voting for?

  • Good question! We encourage you to read the candidate statements so that you know who you are voting for. The candidate statements will also be available on the online voting site.

  • You will also get a chance to meet and learn more about the candidates in our Meet the Candidates session, hosted by the Returning Officer (RO), on Wednesday, 30 April 5:00pm to 6:00pm. This will be an online zoom session. Register to attend here.

  • Once you have read the statements, click on the boxes to number the candidates starting with 1 for your highest preference. For General Reps you must vote at least to 11, but can continue through more candidates if you wish. For campus reps you can continue as far as you like.

What is the last day to vote?

  • You must cast your vote by 5:00pm on Friday, 9 May 2025 for your vote to count.

Work for the MGA

The MGA employs Monash graduate students to fill the receptionist roles at the Clayton and Caulfield offices. When a vacancy arises we advertise the position through our email newsletter and on our website.

The Monash Graduate Association (MGA) is the representative body for all graduate research and coursework students enrolled at Monash University. So, what sets us apart from the University services? The MGA is an independent, not-for-profit association governed by graduate students, for graduate students. Our primary aim is to be there for you! If you can’t find what you are looking for, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
