Hello and welcome from the Monash Graduate Association (MGA)

Starting a new graduate course can be both exciting and daunting! During Orientation Week, the MGA strives to provide you with all the information you need to start your studies armed with everything you need to know to thrive.

We create free, fun-filled opportunities for you to get to know your campus or digital environment and make some new connections with other students.

Read on for an overview of the benefits you can reap from the MGA’s Orientation program.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: To ensure the health and safety of all staff, volunteers and participants, we require physical distancing, regular hand sanitisation and QR code check-in and/or event registration for all on-campus events. You must always carry a face mask with you when you leave home unless you have a lawful reason not to. It is strongly recommended you wear a face mask whenever you cannot keep 1.5 metres distance from others. If you are feeling unwell, please stay home and do not attend any on-campus events.

Coursework Mentor Program

Looking for a way to find your feet as a new graduate student at Monash? Consider getting paired with an experienced graduate coursework student mentor from your faculty, who will guide you to not only survive but thrive in your first year. The MGA peer mentor program is open to all new graduate coursework (Masters) students commencing in July 2021. The program includes six sessions over an eight week duration.

HDR Mentor Program

Are you a new Monash PhD or Masters by Research student looking to find your feet quickly? Apply now to be mentored by a peer student with valuable experience and guidance to offer.

The MGA HDR mentor program is a 12-week program commencing in late August. You will be matched with a current student from your faculty who will provide regular, guided check-ins and help you to settle into your research journey.
