Can you tell us a bit about yourself, your background and your area of study?

My name is Troy, and I am currently a second-year Master of Pharmaceutical Science student. Originally from Malaysia, I moved to Melbourne at the age of 15 and have called this vibrant city home for the past eleven years. My transition from a small town in Malaysia to a multicultural metropolis like Melbourne has given me a unique perspective on life, enriched by the diverse cultures I have encountered.

What is your role within the MGAEC, and what are you hoping to achieve over your term in office?

As Parkville Campus Representative for the MGA, I aim to foster a strong sense of community and advocate for the needs and desires of the Parkville students. Additionally, I serve as the Social Events Officer for the Parkville Postgraduates Association and the OHSC Officer for the American Association for Pharmaceutical Scientists. I believe that combination of my new and existing roles allows me to address student concerns more comprehensively and effectively while simultaneously expanding my reach.

What motivated you to join the executive committee? What drives you to make a difference in your graduate student community?

My motivation to join the MGAEC is driven by a profound sense of community and a desire to give back to the supportive environment that has nurtured me. As your new Parkville Campus Representative, I aspire to be the voice for Parkville graduate students, ensuring that our community's needs are heard and addressed.
