MGA Childcare Grant
Supporting our graduates who are also parents
We know it's not easy juggling study, work and parenting. To support you, the MGA is providing funding to help cover the cost of holiday programs and childcare over the end-of-year break -- giving you greater flexibility to continue your studies.
This program offers a grant of $500 per family and is a one-off grant program. Please note that a grant does not need to be repaid.
Eligibility criteria:
- You MUST be a graduate student enrolled through a Victorian campus of Monash University.
- You have commenced your degree prior to 31 July 2025.
- You have not submitted your thesis for examination or have graduate prior to 31 December 2025.
- You are currently not on intermission.
- You have or had responsibility for the care of a child or children 13 years of age or under.
- You have been residing in Victoria during 2025 and have an Australian bank account.
- Both full-time and part-time graduate students are eligible. However, if you are a part-time student, you must not be concurrently in full-time employment.
- If both parents are students at Monash University, only one application per parenting couple will be considered.
We've designed the funding process to be as fair and straightforward as possible. If you don't meet all the listed criteria but have a good case to make, you're welcome to apply -- just outline your situation in the comments section at the end of the form.

Applications close: Sunday, 30 November 11:59PM AEST
Successful applicants will be notified by Friday, 12 December via your Monash email.
