Staying safe on campus after hours

Tips for keeping our graduate lounge areas safe overnight.

Published Date 21/07/2025

It's important that you keep an eye out for suspicious behaviour on-campus during the nighttime and early morning hours when the MGA staff aren't around to assist you.

We'd like to remind you to practice these basic safety measures whenever you're working at one of our lounges after hours:

  • always be vigilant
  • check to make sure no one you don't know is following you through the lounge doors
  • don't let strangers into the campus lounge areas
  • if you see anything that doesn't seem quite right, report it.

If you ever feel unsafe, call campus security on 03 9905 3333. Please also refer to this list of emergency contacts for all other safety concerns.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact mga@monash.edu.
