The Vice President is responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions comply with the MGA Constitution and MGA policies exist from time to time including financial regulations, assisting the President in representing the views of the MGA in various forums, initiating and maintaining liaison with the Council of Australian Graduate Associations ("CAPA"), overseeing the discipline, expulsion or suspension of members from the MGAEC, and deputising for the President when necessary.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself, your background and your area of study?
My name is Yannee, and I am a second-year PhD candidate from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Monash University's Parkville campus. Having completed both my undergraduate studies and Master of Pharmacy at Monash, I am proud to continue my academic journey here. My research focuses on optimising medicine use and safety for older Australians and exploring ways to create more sustainable healthcare systems.
What is your new role within the MGAEC, and what are you hoping to achieve over your term in office?
I am honoured to serve as the Vice President and Parkville Campus Rep of the Monash Graduate Association Executive Committee (MGAEC). In this role, I will work collaboratively with fellow committee members to foster a stronger sense of community, inclusion and engagement across the postgraduate cohort. I am passionate about ensuring postgraduate voices are heard, strengthening student representation, and supporting initiatives that promote overall wellbeing and mental health.
What motivated you to join the executive committee? What drives you to make a difference in your graduate community?
What drives me is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the postgraduate student experience. Through the MGAEC, I hope to amplify student voices, deliver inclusive events and support programs, and help create a welcoming and connected community where graduate students can thrive both academically and personally.
