Background

I am a Masters by research student based at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research with a focus on microbiology and immunology.

Following the completion of my undergraduate degree at Monash I applied to continue my research and was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to do so.

I am an international student from Sri Lanka. After living in the Monash community for six years I have witnessed many students, especially international students, struggling to adjust to university life despite the many resources offered to them by the university.

Hence, my goal as a member on the committee is to better support the graduate student community, including more vulnerable populations within this community. Through feedback from students, structured events and hard work, I aim to help students forge better connections and to fully enjoy their study journey.

Personal Interests

My personal interests include historical thriller and fantasy novels. My more physical pursuits include calisthenics, rock climbing, swimming and badminton.
