I am a Juris Doctor Law student at the Monash City Law Chambers. I commenced my JD at the end of 2017 after completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Linguistics and Languages at the University of Melbourne. I previously worked for Monash University’s English Connect Academic Writing team, delivering writing and grammar workshops and one-on-one language tutoring assistance to students across the university. I have volunteered with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, and the Sudanese Integrated Learning Program, which provides tutoring to Sudanese school children in the Western suburbs.
As an MGA officer I am keen to explore avenues to support and provide for graduate students’ wellbeing, and to build a university culture that is diverse and inclusive. As Off-campus Officer, I wish to encourage greater integration of services and increased engagement between the larger campuses and off-campus students further afield, who may feel cut off from the main student body. I also wish to provide a voice to students experiencing adversity as a result of COVID-19 teaching conditions. I would like students to know they don’t need to face these conditions alone, and to feel confident to stand up and have their concerns heard.
This is my first term sitting on the MGA Executive Committee.
Outside of my law studies, I am a classical singer and English tutor. I also like to read and go hiking.
