I received the B.Sc. degree in 2016 and the M.S. degree in 2019, both in electronics and communications engineering from the Arab academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Alexandria, Egypt. Since 2017, I have been an assistant lecturer with the Electronics and Communications Engineering at the AASTMT.
I am currently pursuing the PhD with Monash University. My interest is engineering and research, where I seek new innovative app and answers to challenges that people face in various sectors using the most advanced technologies.
During my undergraduate studies, I was selected to represent my university at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I had the opportunity to work in optical communications under the supervision of Dr. John Cartledge, which I found really rewarding. In 2019, I presented my team’s research as an author and presenter at the IEEE Consumer Communications & Networking Conference (CCNC) in Las Vegas, America. It has been a great experience getting to meet a lot of scholars in the field, discovering new methods in technologies, and getting to know incredibly interesting people with whom I am pleased to maintain in touch to this day.
I am overwhelmed and honoured to have been elected as a General Representative on the MGAEC for 2022–2023; this will allow me to assist fellow students in having their voices heard, sharing experiences, and participating in national activities. I hope to be the link between students and the institution, assisting in the development of solutions to any difficulties that may arise, making everyone’s university experience more vibrant, fascinating, and, as much as possible, problem-free.
I’ve always wanted to be a part of a group that can represent everyone’s voice, and I believe that having this experience in Monash will be a life-changing experience for me, and I look forwards to the support that the MGA can bring.
For three years, I was the captain of a volley ball team, and I also enjoy table tennis. I enjoy drawing and painting, and at the age of 14, I was a runner-up in a drawing competition held in China. I have had many art exhibitions, and I have appeared in the newspaper twice for drawing to raise awareness about our society’s problems in Egypt, such as land mines, water scarcity, and homeless children. Furthermore, I am interested in acting and stage performance, and I have previously received best actress awards in Egypt and Sudan youth festivals. I was also a high-school girl Scout Team leader.
