Common Room

There is a microwave, table tennis table, TV, vending machines, couches and a phone in the student common room at the basement of the Monash Medical School building.

Eat with an Expert Seminar Series

Fortnightly get-together over lunch with speakers giving talks and taking questions on topics that specifically target the needs of AMREP graduate students.

Snacks will be provided by the MGA. If you are  planning to attend, please register for catering purposes.

MGA advocacy service at AMREP

The MGA has two advocates assigned to AMREP – Dr. Sunshine Kamaloni and James Breheny. They will be available for confidential consultations in Room 5.379 every second and last Tuesday of the month from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Students can make an appointment with Sunshine/James or drop in to see them during their visit to AMREP.

Counselling Service at AMREP

To support graduate students at the AMREP Centre, the MGA has made arrangements with the University to have a counsellor on site once a week.

This counselling service is provided by the University Counselling and Mental Health Programs.

Mio Ihashi will be at AMREP Centre (Level 5) every Wednesday from 9:00am to 4:00pm to provide free and confidential counselling to members of the Monash University community here. Mio is available for secondary consultation (concerns about others) and can deliver mental health literacy programs at Alfred events/functions.

AMREP – writing group + Shut up and Write

Tutorial room 5

Weekly on a Tuesday, 10-11.30 – sessions alternate between the SPHPM PhD writing group and “Shut Up and Write” sessions.

MIASMA is the social committee serving all staff and students from Monash’s Central Clinical School and School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. MIASMA welcomes enthusiastic and social staff and students to join the committee and become involved.
