The MGA Executive Committee gathered together to collaborate at the MGAEC Annual Planning Retreat. What did they do there? And more importantly, what do they have planned for you?

The MGA Executive Committee (MGAEC) came together with MGA staff in the Yarra Valley for the Annual Planning Retreat.

The goal for the retreat is for the MGAEC to get to know each other better and plan how they will support the graduate student community during their term of office.

Between brainstorming sessions and planning discussions, the MGAEC had some icebreaker activities and cultural exchange sessions to get familiar with each other and a trivia session to get some healthy competitive spirit going!

What are the key areas the MGAEC will focus on this year?

Over the next term of office, the MGAEC will continue to expand MGA’s focus on student welfare, mental health and opportunities for graduate students to network and connect. They also discussed potential programs to alleviate student poverty and improve sustainability. Another issue that found popular support across the executive committee, was improving the quality and quantity of industry engagement for Coursework and HDR students.

Here’s to an amazing new MGEAC team. We look forward to seeing what they will achieve for Monash grads in the coming year!
