How can the MGA’s advocacy and academic support service help international students?
Being an international student is hard, no matter if you are off-shore or in Australia. The MGA has known and helped literally thousands of international students and what we have learned from their experiences is:
- you need to make connections; and
- you need to get help and support if you are struggling with your studies.
One of the roles of the MGA advocacy service is to refer students to services that can help them best.
For example, a common problem for international students is not knowing how to use academic language.
In this case, we would put you in contact with the Student Academic Success team.
As assignment deadlines approach, all you need to do is write one quick email to this team and they will put you in touch with the right language skill adviser.
For any other issues you are facing, please reach out to us – no question is too big or small. Even if we can’t help you, chances are we know who can.
The MGA is independent from the University and all matters discussed with our advocates are confidential. The MGA Advocacy and Academic Support service is free for Monash graduate students.
