The HDR Seminar Series\, hosted by the MGA\, offers support for personal\, academic\, and profess ional development among HDR students. Topics will explore aspects of the HDR journey\, and what may come afterwards. Each seminar is designed to e quip candidates with insights\, strategies\, and connections that enrich their overall research experience.

\n\n

In this seminar\, you will h ear from Dr Kira Hughes on the art of scientific communication. Dr Hughes is an award-winning Science Communicator passionate about making science fun &\; accessible and helping other researchers learn how to effecti vely communicate to diverse audiences. ​She has brought her scientific ex pertise to media platforms like the Today Show\, 7News\, ABC Radio\, SBS News\, Herald Sun\, The Conversation\, Guardian Australia\, and more.

\n\n

From comedy shows to TEDx talks\, Kira has done it all. She has ru n workshops &\; coaching sessions for students\, researchers\, and aca demics on effective science communication. She'\;s facilitated several outreach ventures that encourage students\, especially young girls\, to study and pursue careers in STEM. Additionally\, Kira has written content for publishers\, ranging from book reviews to news columns\, and contrib uted to science-focused content for social media &\; mainstream media campaigns reaching over 33 million people.
